Trail-Gate Jeep Jam To Benefit Special Olympics
Saturday morning, the weather’s going to be perfect to go topless with a few hundred of your friends.
Topless in your Jeep, we mean. And for a great cause.
The Trail-Gate Jeep Jam is a community-focused fundraising event hosted by the Mauldin Police Department to benefit Special Olympics South Carolina (SOSC). Scheduled for Saturday, March 7 at BridgeWay Station in Simpsonville/Mauldin, SC, the event brings Jeep enthusiasts together for a day of "trail-gating," competition, and charity.
The event features several competitions throughout the day. Drivers can show off their best looks in the “Show and Shine” competition, and can test their skills on flex ramps in the Flex Competition. Participants can also compete for titles including Best In Show Wrangler, Best in Show Gladiator, Most Muddy Jeep, and Athlete’s Favorite.
Beyond the Jeeps in display and in competition, the event will include a raffle, vendor booths, and opportunities to meet the athletes who benefit from the program.
The Trail-Gate Jeep Jam raises money through registration fees, t-shirt sales, sponsorships, and raffle proceeds. Funds raised help keep programs free for athletes. Special Olympics South Carolina serves more than 30,000 athletes statewide, and money raised helps ensure that all programs, training, and competitions remain 100 percent free for the athletes and their families. Funds also help cover essential costs, as donations go directly toward the cost of sports equipment, venue rentals for games, and professional sports training across various disciplines.
The event is part of a series of fundraisers led by the Mauldin Police Department in support of the Law Enforcement Torch Run, the largest grassroots funding movement for Special Olympics globally. While the Jeep Jam is a one-day event, the funds provide year-round support, allowing athletes with intellectual disabilities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, and experience the joy of sport throughout the entire year. It’s something Harrison’s is thrilled to be a part of.
“We always love supporting our first responders and the Special Olympics,” Kevin Harrison said. “We’re so thankful for our partners at the Mauldin Police Department for spearheading this, and for Ashley and our team from Harrison’s for representing us so well.”
Registration is $25 prior to the event, or $35 for day-of registration. Every fee translates into direct support for local athletes, helping them reach their full potential on and off the field.
